Your school has released their senate list and your name is there? Now, it is time to check whether your name has been sent to and approved to register for NYSC online mobilization. Well, the next thing to do is check if your name is on the approved NYSC senate list, but how do you check your name on the list?
Don’t worry too much about it, in this post, I will teach you how to check your name on the NYSC Senate List and explain the reasons why your name is not there and what to do so your name can be on the list.
What is the NYSC Senate List?
The NYSC senate list is a comprehensive list of graduates who have been cleared and approved to register for NYSC program by the senate of their institution. The list is usually released after the institution’s student affairs have pasted the names of approved students and this is usually by the end of each academic session.
Requirements to Check NYSC Senate List
You will need the provide the following details before you can check your name on the NYSC Senate List:
- Name of the Institution
- Your Surname
- Your date of birth (D.O.B)
- Your Matric Number
How to Check Your Name on the NYSC Senate List
To your check name on the NYSC senate list, follow the simple steps below:
- Visit NYSC Senate portal via https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc3/VerifySenateLists.aspx
- Select your Institution.
- Type in your Matriculation Number and Surname in the required columns.
- Select your date of birth (make sure it corresponds with the one you submitted during mobilization process).
- Finally, click the ‘SEARCH’ button to check your mobilization status.
Note: Uploading of names is still ongoing, so if you don’t see your name on the list.
Why is My Name Not on The NYSC Senate List?
Your name may not appear on the list due to the following reasons:
- You are yet to complete your school clearance.
- Your name is not on the JAMB Matriculation List, this can result in your name not appearing on NYSC senate list.
- You did JAMB regularization and you did not submit your indemnity form to your institution’s student affairs or your application is not yet approved by JAMB.
- You are yet to fill or submit your mobilization form, and pay a set price to the school for the service.
- Your documents are incomplete, such as an admission letter and your JAMB original results etc.
- If your institution has not sent hard copies of your credentials to NYSC for upload on the NYSC portal.
- There might some uncertainties regarding the documents your school to the NYSC, which needs to be reverified, this might cause delay in the uploading of name.
- If institutions submit more than the required numbers of graduates to NYSC portal, the names may be split into batches so as to accommodate them.
How to Make Your Name Appear on NYSC Senate List
Follow the steps listed below to ensure your name appear on the NYSC Senate List faster:
- Check and if your name is on the JAMB Matriculation List.
- Check your name on the senate list pasted on the notice board at your institution’s senate building to confirm if it has been submitted.
- Go to your school to fill the NYSC mobilization form and submit it at the Students Affairs Unit.
- Do and complete your clearance at your school.
