List of Documents & Things You Need For NYSC Camp

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a mandatory one-year service program for all Nigerian graduates. The program aims to foster unity, promote national development, and instill patriotism among Nigerian youths.

To ensure a smooth and comfortable experience at NYSC camp, we’ve complied a list of Documents and items prospective corpers should pack before heading to the camp:

Requirements for NYSC Camp

1. NYSC Call-Up Letter: This is the official document summoning you to the camp. Carry the original copy and 4 photocopies.
2. Final Year Student ID Card: This verifies your identity as a graduate. Carry the original copy and 2 photocopies.
3. Statement of Result (B.SC or HND): Proof of your graduation. Carry the original copy and 4 photocopies.
4. NYSC Green Card: This is a printout from your online registration. Carry the original copy and 4 photocopies.
5. Recent Passport Photograph: Carry at least 8 copies with a white background.
6. Medical Certificate of Fitness: This certifies your physical fitness for NYSC activities. Carry 2 copies.
7. Uploaded Documents (if applicable): If you graduated from another country, carry the originals of all uploaded documents.

Things Needed for NYSC Camp

1. White Shorts, Round-Neck Shirts, and Inner-wears: You’ll wear these daily. Pack 2 extra pairs of shorts.
2. Toiletries: Include antiseptics, insecticides, towels, sanitary pads, mosquito nets, etc.
3. Bath Essentials: Pack toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, sponge, and detergent.
4. White Tennis Shoes and White Socks: Get an extra pair of shoes that fit well.
5. Mosquito Net: Protect yourself from mosquito bites.
6. Torchlight: Provide light during power outages.
7. Padlocks: Secure your belongings.
8. Phone and Power Bank: Stay connected and charged.
9. Waist Pouch: Keep essentials handy.
10. Money: Cover expenses like food, photographs, etc.

Things Not Allowed in NYSC Camp:

1. Television Set

3. Bicycles/Motorbikes
4. Laptops
5. Mattress (provided by NYSC)
6. Extension Socket (use power banks)
7. Knife
8. Gas Cylinder/Stove (cooking is prohibited)
9. Heater
10. Condom
