Changing your marital status on the NYSC portal can help you get posted to the same state as your husband, or get a relocation approval if you are already deployed to a different state.
The first thing you need to do is to upload the following documents on the NYSC portal:
- Marriage certificate or affidavit
- Newspaper change of name
- Husband’s national ID card
- Utility bill
- Letter from husband’s employer or local government
To upload these documents, follow these steps:
- Log in to your dashboard on the NYSC portal https://portal.nysc.org.ng
- Click on “My Profile”
- Click on “Change of Marital Status”
- Select the documents you want to upload and click on “Choose File”
- Browse your device and select the files
- Click on “Upload” and wait for confirmation
After uploading the documents, you need to apply for relocation based on marital grounds. To do this, follow these steps:
- Log in to your dashboard on the NYSC portal
- Click on “Relocation”
- Fill in the required details and select “Marital” as the reason for relocation
- Write a brief letter stating why you want to relocate and attach your husband’s address proof
- Click on “Submit” and wait for approval
You can check the status of your relocation application on your dashboard. If approved, you will receive a notification and a new call-up letter. You will need to print the call-up letter and report to the new state for registration.
Note that changing your marital status on the NYSC portal does not guarantee that you will be relocated. The NYSC management has the final say on who gets relocated and where.
However, uploading the required documents and applying for relocation can increase your chances of getting posted to your preferred state.
