If you are a Nigerian graduate who has completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, you know how important it is to have your NYSC certificate.

The certificate serves as proof of your participation in the program and is often required for employment or further education. But what if you lose or misplace your certificate? How can you get a replacement?

Don’t worry, the NYSC management has a provision for replacing any lost or damaged certificates. However, you need to follow some steps and provide some documents to apply for a replacement.

In this blog post, we will guide you through the process of applying for a replacement of your lost NYSC certificate.

Step 1: Visit the NYSC website

The first step is to visit the official website of the NYSC at www.nysc.gov.ng. On the website, scroll down and click on the “Certificates” tab and select “Certificate Replacement.”

Step 2: Fill out the online form

Next, you will be required to fill out an online form. The form will require you to provide personal information such as your full name, date of birth, place of birth, and your NYSC call-up number.

Step 3: Upload supporting documents

You will also be required to upload supporting documents such as a police report, sworn affidavit, and a passport photograph. The police report and sworn affidavit are necessary to prove that you have lost your certificate and that you are the rightful owner of it. The passport photograph is for identification purposes.

Step 4: Make payment

Once you have completed the form and uploaded the required documents, you will be directed to a payment page. The cost for a replacement NYSC certificate is currently N3,000 (subject to change).

Step 5: Receive confirmation and collect your certificate

After payment, you will receive a confirmation email. The NYSC will then process your application, and the replacement certificate will be issued to you. You can collect your certificate at the NYSC directorate headquarters in Abuja at the stipulated time communicated to you.

Please note that the processing time for a replacement NYSC certificate can take up to six months. You must also be physically present to collect your certificate and provide your international passport as identification.
