NYSC Relocation
NYSC relocation is the process of changing your state of deployment after you have reported to the orientation camp.

The reasons for NYSC relocation are usually based on three grounds: health, marital or security.
- Marital grounds: This applies to married female corps members who want to join their husbands in another state. They need to provide evidence of their marriage certificate, their husband’s residence permit, and a letter from their husband’s employer.
- Health grounds: This applies to corps members who have serious medical conditions that require them to be closer to their families or doctors. They need to provide a medical report from a recognized hospital or clinic, stating the nature and severity of their illness.
- Security grounds: This applies to corps members who are posted to states that are facing security challenges, such as insurgency, kidnapping, or communal clashes. They need to provide a letter from their state coordinator, requesting for their relocation on security grounds.
How to Apply for NYSC Relocation
To apply for NYSC relocation, you need to submit an application letter and supporting documents to the State Coordinator during the orientation camp.
The documents may include a medical report from a government hospital, a marriage certificate and evidence of change of name, or a proof of residence of your spouse.
You also need to fill an online form on the NYSC portal and select your preferred state of relocation.
How to Apply for NYSC Relocation Online
To apply for NYSC relocation, you need to do the following steps:
- Log in to your NYSC dashboard and click on “Relocation”
- Fill in the online application form and state your reason and preferred state
- Upload the required documents to support your application
- Submit your application and wait for approval
- Print out your relocation letter and report to your new state secretariat.
The approval of your application depends on the availability of slots in your preferred state and the discretion of the NYSC management.
You will be notified of the status of your application via SMS or email within four weeks after the orientation camp.

NYSC Redeployment
NYSC redeployment is the process of changing your place of primary assignment (PPA) within the same state of deployment.

The reasons for NYSC redeployment are usually based on personal grounds, employer’s request, or rejection by PPA.
- Personal grounds: This applies to corps members who are not comfortable with their PPA, either because of the distance, the nature of work, the accommodation, or the welfare. They need to write a letter to their local government inspector (LGI), stating their reason and preferred PPA.
- Employer’s request: This applies to corps members who are offered a better opportunity by another employer in the same state. They need to get a letter from their current employer, releasing them from their PPA, and a letter from their new employer, accepting them to their PPA.
- Rejection by PPA: This applies to corps members who are rejected by their PPA, either because of overpopulation, lack of vacancy, or mismatch of skills. They need to get a letter from their PPA, stating the reason for their rejection, and a letter from their LGI, recommending them to another PPA.
To apply for NYSC redeployment, you need to submit an application letter and supporting documents to your Local Government Inspector (LGI) within three months after the orientation camp.
